We visited a local strawberry field here in Germany, and it was one of those simple outings that turned into a core memory. Watching Gideon run through the rows, carefully choosing the ripest berries (and sneaking a few bites!) reminded me how special seasonal activities can be, especially as a mom raising a toddler abroad.

What I Made with the Strawberries

Since our visit, we’ve enjoyed those strawberries in a bunch of ways:

  • Fresh with breakfast
  • Over yogurt and in pancakes
  • As a sweet homemade jam
  • … and in the smoothie bowl I’m sharing below, which might be our favorite yet.
