In all transparency, I LOVE a good Lüften session In all transparency, I LOVE a good Lüften session at home—especially when it’s cold outside! There’s just something about that crisp, fresh air flowing through the house that feels so refreshing and energizing. I’m curious how I’ll feel about keeping the windows and doors open just as much in the summer, but I have a feeling I’m going to love it then, too.⁠ ⁠ In Germany, Lüften (airing out the home) isn’t just a personal preference—it’s a standard practice and often written into rental contracts. Proper ventilation helps prevent mold, improves air quality, and even regulates indoor temperatures. Many landlords require tenants to air out their homes regularly to maintain the building properly.⁠ ⁠ And yes, my husband sometimes gets chilly when I’m letting all that fresh air in, but the benefits are totally worth it!⁠ ⁠ I’d love to hear your thoughts: Do you air out your home in the winter, even when someone in the family is sick? Reflecting on our time in Ecuador fills me with gr Reflecting on our time in Ecuador fills me with gratitude—from the warm, welcoming people to the breathtaking daily views, especially from our balcony. 🇪🇨✨ ⁠ ⁠ As a new mom, Quito became my sanctuary, offering mental and spiritual peace during the early days of motherhood.⁠ ⁠ However, our family’s journey is defined by embracing new chapters. My husband’s career in the Foreign Service requires us to relocate every few years, and now, it’s time for a new adventure in Germany. 🇩🇪⁠ ⁠ Leaving Ecuador wasn’t easy. We cherished our routines, the friendships we built, and the vibrant culture. It’s hard, but it’s so worth it. When I say I’ve been making @halfbakedharvest’ When I say I’ve been making @halfbakedharvest’s 20-Minute Korean Gochujang Beef Bowls every single week for the past couple of months, I’m not kidding! It’s become such a staple in our home that my little one now has a pretty impressive spice tolerance—thanks to those heaping tablespoons of gochujang. Lately, bowl-style dishes have been my go-to. They’re quick, packed with protein, easy to customize, and perfect for meal prep—basically a busy mama’s dream. Plus, they make dinner feel exciting without the stress. To boost the veggies, I added mushrooms to the stir fry and cabbage to the bowl. If you find this dish a little too spicy (especially for the kiddos), try adding some sriracha mayo or a spoonful of yogurt to cool it down! What’s been your favorite easy meal lately? We stayed in the cutest Airbnb in Germany, and I h We stayed in the cutest Airbnb in Germany, and I had to share a little tour! ⁠ ⁠ The kitchen had gorgeous butcher block countertops and a built-in dishwasher that made clean-up a breeze. They even had an organized trash and recycling setup, which I loved! The fridge was super cute, though smaller than what we’re used to back in the States.⁠ ⁠ The bathroom was small but mighty. It had everything we needed, and the water pressure was the best I’ve had in a long time. ⁠ ⁠ The bedrooms were cozy and perfect for us to feel right at home.⁠ ⁠ The rest of the space didn’t disappoint! The dining area doubled as an office (so handy!), and the big windows filled the home with dreamy natural light. Spend the evening with us as we navigate life in G Spend the evening with us as we navigate life in Germany with our toddler. 🇩🇪✨⁠ ⁠ Our evenings are simple but full of moments that make this season of life feel special. ⁠ ⁠ Gideon starts with some free sensory play, allowing me to reset and catch up with family back home. Then it’s time to cook dinner together—always a mix of chaos and fun in the kitchen!⁠ ⁠ While Gideon enjoys his meal, I take a few minutes to clean up and prep for the next day. After dinner, we wind him down for bed with our usual routine (lots of cuddles included!). Once he’s asleep, Gozie and I finally get some quiet time to have dinner together and relax with a show. ⁠ ⁠ Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, but these little routines help ground us.
